The drugs were discovered when Officer Frank Pierri conducted a traffic stop on Walsh Road. During the course of the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver, Harold R. Perez, 41, of New Windsor, was in possession of 440 bags of heroin, said Lt. Michale Farbent.
Further investigation then led officers to obtain a search warrant for the suspects’ residence which led to an additional 2,651 bags of heroin, Farbent added.
Perez was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Orange County Jail on $75,000 bail.
